MILES CITY, MONTANA: MILES CITY, MONTANA: Each year at Miles Community College, distinguished graduating student awards are given to three MCC students based on the individual's time as a student, including their academic and co-curricular involvement. These awards are presented at graduation ceremonies and are given in three divisions: General/Arts and Sciences, Career and Technical, and Nursing. Nominations are submitted in the spring by MCC faculty and staff.

This year, the Class of 2024 Outstanding Graduate in the Nursing Division is Jordan Hagemeister of Miles City, Montana. Hagemeister will be graduating cum laude with an Associate of Science in Nursing degree at this Saturday's graduation ceremony.

Hagemeister has been an engaged student in the MCC nursing program, working hard and inspiring her fellow nursing students. The college has received positive feedback from local community members during her clinical hours who mention Hagemeister as a student and how much they enjoyed working with her.

“This is amazing,” Hagemeister said. “It really means a lot to me, knowing that my hard work and dedication is paying off.”

Hagemeister was surprised with the award during the nursing program exam prep sessions last week on campus, where MCC faculty and staff joined together in interrupting the classroom to present her with a certificate and medallion.

“I want to thank Professor (Katrina) Luther for her dedication to me and my classmates. We wouldn’t be nurses without her.”

Nominations for Hagemeister commented on her work ethic and her “team player” skills, noting that she was a friend to many and always willing to learn.

The three Outstanding Graduate Award winners will lead in the student processional during the 84th MCC Commencement Ceremony held this Saturday at 10:00 am in the MCC Centra.
