Miles Community College Employees Participate in Community Leadership Institute

Miles Community College President Stefani Hicswa and Director of Enrollment Management Jessie Dufner participated in the “Leadership for Miles City” program sponsored by the Miles City Area Economic Development Council from September 2007 through May 2008.

The “Leadership for Miles City” program is designed to bring together individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences who have demonstrated talent and commitment for leadership. The goals of the program are to a) identify and motivate emerging leaders, b) acquaint emerging leaders with community needs and resources, c) instill a sense of “community” to motivate participants into leadership roles, and d) provide skills development training to enhance leadership capabilities. The program is modeled after similar leadership programs operating successfully in communities across the United States. Participants in the “Leadership for Miles City” program commit to one day e month learning about the community and its resources. Each month program courses were introduced with topics covering leadership and skills development, agriculture, government, education, energy and transportation, healthcare, social services, and tourism.
