Workforce Center Provides Services |

The Miles City Career Development Workforce Center (CDWC) at
Miles Community College will be doing some restructuring soon -
but will still be in business! Career Development will continue
to work with students and the community through the Workforce
Investment Act (WIA) and the State Displaced Homemaker Program,
as well as offering placement services at Miles Community
College.
In addition to providing education scholarships to eligible
participants, CDWC also helps with career testing and advising,
soft skills training, resume preparation, interviewing advice,
completing job applications and job search and placement. These
services are free-of-charge and will continue uninterrupted at
MCC.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will soon be
investing money in the Workforce Investment Act. If you are in
need of training or financial support while attending school,
now is the time to request that support. The Miles City Job
Service and Career Development, WIA partners, urge students and
others needing help with employment and training, to contact
either agency for more information. Both agencies are anxious to
provide increased employment and training services to our
community.
Recent changes at Career Development involve the Work Readiness
Component (WoRC). The WoRC program's main focus is assisting
welfare recipients in their efforts to become employed and
self-sufficient. Miles Community College is focusing their
sponsorships on programs that directly impact students and has
decided to pass their sponsorship of the WoRC program to a more
appropriate sponsor. Employment and training services will
continue uninterrupted to all eligible WIA and State
participants.
