Karla Lund, Miles Community College Registered Nursing Program Director, has been approved as a member of a national Health Occupations committee through the Rural Community College Alliance (RCCA) in Altus, Oklahoma. Dr. Randy Smith, President of RCCA, has formed the committee on health occupations education to discuss best practices, curriculum, trends, equipment, and collaborate on issues that influence and impact health occupation programs at rural colleges. The committee will meet via conference call every other month to discuss health occupation education news and practices, vendors, and resources to be made available to all RCCA members via the website http://www.ruralccalliance.org. The committee's objective will be to facilitate communication and collaboration among Rural Community College Alliance member colleges.

Karla Lund is completing her first year as the MCC Nursing Program Director. She has been a practicing healthcare professional for 23 years and was a full-time Adult Health Nursing instructor for eight years before accepting the program director position.
