Nibs and Edna Allen were recognized for their contribution to Miles Community College on September 22, 2009. A ceremony was held to show appreciation for Mr. & Mrs. Allen’s dedication to MCC students and to commemorate the naming of the Nibs and Edna Allen Commons. The Allen’s and their foundation have been long standing supporters of various projects on campus, in Miles City and in Eastern Montana. Three members of their foundation board attended: William Hand, Edna Jensen, and Nancy Larson.

Don Hartman recalled his interactions with the Allen’s, while Dr. Stefani Hicswa reminded the attendees of the impact the Allen’s have had on campus life throughout the years. William Hand, President of the Nibs and Edna Allen Foundation, reminisced about his family’s appreciation for their community and their enjoyment of community service. The presentation ended with the unveiling of the Nibs and Edna Allen Commons sign and the presentation of a plaque that will be displayed in the building.
