MCC “Pioneers in Pink” Raise Money for Relay for Life |
Miles Community College’s Athletic Department, Phi Theta Kappa, Student Senate, Universal Athletics and NAPA sponsored the “MCC Pioneers in Pink” for Cancer Awareness during Monday night’s basketball games in the MCC Centra. Student Senate provided the pink t-shirts the Pioneers wore during their warm-up. Phi Theta Kappa provided excitement during half-time with a “Pop-A-Shot” game and staffed a cancer-awareness information and donation table. Universal Athletics Services sold 50/50 tickets, awarding prizes of two $50 gift certificates and a pink basketball signed by the Lady Pioneers. NAPA provided free popcorn and the chance to win a thousand dollars for the lucky winner who could make a half-court shot. The MCC Relay for Life team sold heart and ribbon suckers. All proceeds from the fundraiser went to the MCC Relay for Life team.
MCC Relay for Life would like to thank everyone who made this fundraiser possible. They would also like to thank the loyal Pioneer fans who came to cheer on the teams and who also donated generously to Relay for Life. Through everyone’s help and support, this event raised $518.50. Thank you, everyone, for your support.
