The Miles Community College Center for Distance Education and Community Outreach (DECO) will host the class “ArcGIS II/ Tools and Functions for 9.3”, Monday, April 26 through Wednesday, April 28 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in room 314. The instructor will be Dr. Van Shelhamer.
Learn the range of functionality available in ArcGIS 9.3 and essential tools for visualizing, creating, managing and analyzing geographic data. The class will focus on investigating and working with different geographical data, managing data layers, symbolizing different types of data, applying labels and annotations to data, managing data tables, creating geodatabases and feature classes, and solving spatial problems with query and analysis tools to discover patterns and relationships between datasets. Learn to customize the ArcGIS Desktop, and produce effective map layouts. The hands-on course exercises emphasize practice with ArcMap and ArcCatalog to perform common GIS tasks and workflows. Students will be prepared to start working with the software on their own after completing this class.
