Miles Community College Kid’s Kollege offers Diggin’ Dudes: Archaeology for Young People
 

Think you’re too young for archaeology? Think again! The Miles Community College Center for Distance Education and Community Outreach (DECO) will offer a “Kid’s Kollege Diggin’ Dudes: Archaeology for Young People””. The instructor for the Diggin’ Dudes: Archaeology for Young People will be Dr. Tom Rust, from MSU Billings. The class will be held July 14, in room 106. Class times for ages 6 to 9 are 9:00 am – Noon. Students ages 10 and up class will be from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

This introduction to the study of the human past is filled with exciting opportunities for students to discover the cultural history, geography, and archaeology of past from Ancient Europe to the American West. During the students experience they will learn the basics of excavation and analysis and learn to sort and identify artifacts. The day is topped off with a simulated excavation where the student can get their hands dirty.
