MCC Receives $8,000 From Northwest Farm Credit Services/CoBank For Ag Scholarships

Miles Community College (MCC) recently received an $8,000 donation from Northwest Farm Credit Services/CoBank to be used toward scholarships for freshmen and sophomore students enrolled in any of MCC’s agriculture programs. The scholarships will be awarded as four $2,000 scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year.

MCC Logo MCC President, Stacy Klippenstein, says, “I appreciate Northwest Farm Credit Services/CoBank’s donation of $8,000 for scholarships. They understand the importance of Ag education and are a partner with MCC regarding our desire to be a hub of Ag education in this region. MCC thanks them for their generous gift.”

These scholarship dollars come at an opportune time as MCC looks to grow its Ag programs and begin construction on the new Ag Advancement Center in 2016. The Ag Advancement Center is a 36,000 square foot facility that will house three classrooms as well as an arena that will be utilized by students in the Ag and Equine Programs and varsity Rodeo team.

Incoming, full-time freshmen or sophomores who have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and are majoring in one of MCC’s agriculture degrees are eligible to apply for the scholarships. Interested students should complete the MCC Scholarship Application form found at https://www.milescc.edu/CampusServices/FinancialAid/scholarships.htm and submit it to the Financial Aid Office by April 15, 2016. For questions about the scholarship, please contact the MCC’s Financial Aid Office at 406.874.6208.
