Miles Community College has collaborated with The University of
Montana College of Technology in Missoula to offer an online
degree in Energy Technology. The Energy Technology Program
introduces students to the full suite of energy
technologies—traditional, emerging, renewable, and
alternative—and prepares them for careers in the energy
industry. Graduates of the program are best described as general
practitioners who possess a wide variety of essential skills: a
specialized knowledge of the design, application, installation,
operation, and maintenance of diverse energy technologies and
systems, including troubleshooting, sales, management,
regulatory compliance, site identification, economic assessment,
efficiency and conservation assessment, storage and
distribution, research and development, and project management.
These specialized skills are bolstered by a broad education in
scientific and mathematical fundamentals, critical and
analytical thinking, adaptive problem solving and management
skills, and an understanding of the economic, social, and
environmental implications of different energy technologies.
Students interested in pursuing this degree must contact the
Energy Technology Academic Advisor at Miles Community College
for information and to assure proper course sequencing. |
