Requesting Disability Accommodations at MCC

  Service Request Form
  1. If this is the first time you are requesting disability accommodations:
    1. Submit the Service Request Form (copies available on-line, at the Disability
      Coordinator’s office (Room 208) or at the Student Services office. You will be scheduled for an intake appointment once the Disability Coordinator receives the Service Request Form.
  2. If this is not your first time requesting disability accommodations:
    1. Meet with the Disabilities Coordinator in Room 208 before registering each semester.

Listed below are some physical and academic accommodations provided to students in the past:

  • Early advisement
  • Early registration
  • Use of tape recorder in the classroom
  • Use of textbooks on tape
  • Time extensions for:
    1. Completing exams
    2. Completing assignments--Early notice preferred method to meet regular deadlines
    3. Library material
    4. Completing program requirements
    5. Completing course requirements
  • Use of an in-class note taker (a peer may share notes)
  • Use of a calculator (for in-class assignments and exams)
  • Evaluation of in-class assignments and exams should exclude spelling
  • Alternative testing methods and/or setting:
    1. Testing in a quiet place
    2. Oral questions and dictated answered to supplement or replace written tests
