Annual Giving
Each year the Miles Community College Endowment sponsors an
annual fundraising drive. Gifts to the annual drive have an
immediate impact on the students and the college. Donors may
choose for their gifts to go into the scholarship fund, which
provides more than $10,000 to students annually; or to the
general endowment fund, which is used to provide funds where the
Endowment sees the greatest need.
Scholarship donations of $500 or more may be named by the donor
and may also be designated in a way that does not meet the
priority system outlined in the Miles Community College
Scholarship Program (i.e. to a graduate of Garfield County High
School or a student in the agriculture program).
Current gifts may be given throughout the year. Contact the MCC
Endowment Office to discuss making a donation.
Planned Giving
Planned giving, or deferred giving, refers to charitable gifts
that the Miles Community College Endowment will receive in the
future as a result of your estate, financial, and tax planning.
Planned gifts can provide tax benefits and/or a life income to
the donors and their families. Planned gifts include bequests,
life insurance policies, retirement plan assets, charitable gift
annuities, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts,
and retained life estate agreements.
If you have already made arrangements for a deferred gift to
Miles Community College, please let us know to ensure that your
intentions are carried out. You may also be eligible for
membership in our Heritage Society.
Memorials and Honorariums
A gift to higher education is a meaningful way to pay tribute to
someone special in your life or in the life of Miles Community
College. Donations to the Endowment also make a unique and
lasting anniversary or birthday gift for those who hold the
college dear. We will notify honored designees or the family
members of those remembered with your gifts.
Endowments
An endowment provides a significant and lasting contribution to
Miles Community College. The principle of an endowed gift is
invested and the interest is used annually to meet the
designated needs of the fund. Endowments may be created at
anytime and funded through annual or deferred gifts. |
