Public Notice - Accreditation
The public is invited to comment on the qualifications of Miles Community College (MCC) as an institution that is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). MCC will be visited by a team of evaluators to conduct a comprehensive evaluation April 22 – 24, 2015, as part of its institutional accreditation process. Miles Community College has been continuously accredited by NWCCU since 1971. MCC’s accreditation was most recently reaffirmed after a visit in April 2012 that addressed Standards One and Two.
Comments may be sent directly to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, 8060 165th Ave NE, Suite 100, Redmond, WA 98052, phone 425/558-4224. Comments must be signed and received by March 23, 2015. The office of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities will acknowledge, in writing, the receipt of all written and signed third-party comments pertaining to MCC’s qualifications for accreditation. Copies of third-party comments will be made available to members of the evaluating committee and to MCC at least ten days prior to the scheduled evaluation. MCC shall have the option of responding in writing to third-party comments to the evaluation committee prior to the visit. The evaluation committee will consider third-party comments and MCC’s written response along with all other information available during the evaluation process. The Commission will maintain a file of third-party comments for MCC, and a copy of the letter acknowledging third-party comments. These records will be maintained for at least five years.
