The Center for Academic
Success coordinates six programs including developmental
studies to advanced topics, designed for students with unique learning
needs.
1) The ABE/GED Program (010) prepares adults to test successfully for the Montana
High School Equivalency Certificate and offers individualized instruction in
reading, English, math, spelling, vocabulary, etc. at the pre-college level.
2) The Developmental Studies Program (015) provides individualized instruction
in reading, English, spelling, math, vocabulary, and science for students who
require refresher classes before entering college-level courses.
3) The International Studies Program (025) provides instruction for students
having English as their second language. Based on Individual need, the ESL curriculum
offers skill development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
4) The Transitional Studies Program (090-098) provides instruction in math, vocabulary,
study skills, and composition at a college review level for students who are
re-entering school or who did not have college prep courses in high school.
5) The Tutorial Program (no credit) coordinates free one-to-one or group tutoring
in academic courses upon request by the student or referral by the instructor.

6) The Placement Self-Assessment Program (no credit) provides diagnostic testing
service in the reading, English, and math areas and communicates scores and recommendations
to academic advisors to assist students in planning their educational programs.
All no credit programs are provided with no charge for tuition and materials.
All under 100 level programs are free of charge unless taken for college credit.
