Prerequisites: Previous keyboarding experience with at least 35 words per minute.

Students will code charts, fill in insurance claims, transcribe various medical reports, make appointments, do automated billing, etc. Attitude and confidentiality in the medical office will be stressed. An overview of ethical concerns and legal considerations for medical office staff will be presented.
Prerequisite: Enrollment in any of the medical assistant options.
