LEGACY OF SERVICE:
Raised in Miles City, Scott earned his associate’s degree from Miles Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Rocky Mountain College, and a master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University. He is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience, spanning both direct service roles and executive positions.

Currently, Scott serves as the Program Director for the Montana Healthcare Foundation, where he was one of the founding staff members, helping establish it as Montana’s first healthcare foundation. In this role, he leads the Foundation’s programming and directs initiatives focused on behavioral health, including the Integrated Behavioral Health and School-Based Health Initiatives. He provides strategic guidance and technical assistance to improve health outcomes in Montana, collaborating with state, tribal, and healthcare leaders to strengthen the state’s continuum of care for behavioral health. Additionally, Scott is the founding trustee and vice-chair of the Montana Opioid Abatement Trust, having been elected twice by Montana’s urban counties.

Scott has also served on several boards and advisory councils that support behavioral health and community needs, including the Human Resource Development Council Board of Directors, the Governor’s Healthier Montana Task Force, and Emergency Crisis Services of Gallatin County. He is a frequent national speaker on behavioral health systems and program development and is regarded as a leading voice on behavioral health issues in Montana.

A former collegiate basketball player at Miles Community College and Rocky Mountain College, Scott earned multiple all-conference awards during his career. He currently resides in Bozeman with his wife and two children.
