MCC now offering multiple summer sessions!
MILES CITY, MONTANA: Miles Community College will now be offering multiple summer sessions to accommodate busy student schedules and to provide an opportunity to get a jump start on the fall semester or to accelerate degree completion.
Rather than traditional courses running the full summer term, MCC will now be offering 5-, 8-, and 12-week sessions with multiple start dates in a variety of course subjects. Courses are available online with limited options on-campus (apart from internships/clinical courses) in subjects such as anatomy, computers, economics, history, biology, math, photography, psychology, public speaking, sociology, written communications, and more. The 12-week Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program will also be offered this summer.
“Summer is a great chance to get a head start on college,” states Erin Niedge, MCC Dean of Enrollment Management and Educational Support Services. “Students will receive the same credits, in a shorter time frame, thus either lessening their course load in the fall or potentially putting them ahead to graduate sooner. It’s a win-win situation for students!”
College credits earned at MCC transfer seamlessly into other Montana colleges and universities, with dozens of Montana University System (MUS) core classes available. MCC also offers tuition discounts for high school students who enroll for summer classes immediately following high school graduation in May.
“It’s a great incentive for high school students to ease into college courses and start getting ahead,” commented Niedge.
Summer start dates include Monday, May 8 for 12-week and 5-week sessions, as well as the first 8-week session, and Monday, June 5 for the second 8-week session. For the complete summer schedule by subject, click here.
