MILES CITY, MONTANA: Miles Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce that Scott Malloy has been selected as an inductee into the MCC Hall of Fame.

This honor recognizes alumni who have demonstrated outstanding academic and professional achievements, as well as a continued commitment to service and leadership. Malloy will be honored as this year’s Distinguished Alumni recipient at the 2025 MCC Commencement Ceremony, which will be held on Saturday, May 3 on the MCC campus.

A native of Miles City, Malloy began his higher education journey at MCC, earning his Associate of Arts degree in 1999. He continued his academic pursuits at Rocky Mountain College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2001, followed by a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University in 2004.

Malloy is a licensed clinical social worker with more than two decades of experience in behavioral health and community service. His professional journey includes leadership roles in both direct care and administrative capacities. From 2006 to 2015, Malloy served as Director and later Executive Director at behavioral health centers in Butte and Bozeman, Montana. In 2015, he joined the Montana Healthcare Foundation, where he served as Senior Program Officer before being named Program Director in 2019. He was among the foundation’s founding staff members and has been instrumental in developing and leading initiatives that improve behavioral health care across the state.

In his current role, Malloy oversees statewide programming and spearheads efforts such as the Integrated Behavioral Health and School-Based Health Initiatives. His work includes strategic collaboration with healthcare providers, tribal leaders, and state agencies to enhance Montana’s behavioral health systems. He also serves as the founding trustee and vice-chair of the Montana Opioid Abatement Trust, representing Montana’s urban counties through two consecutive elections.

Throughout his career, Malloy has remained committed to serving his community. His extensive board and advisory service includes the Human Resource Development Council Board of Directors, the Governor’s Healthier Montana Task Force, and Emergency Crisis Services of Gallatin County. A respected speaker and thought leader, he is frequently invited to present at national conferences on behavioral health systems and program innovation.

Malloy’s contributions extend beyond his professional work. As a former collegiate basketball player at both MCC and Rocky Mountain College, he earned multiple all-conference honors and built relationships that continue to impact his life today. He currently lives in Bozeman with his wife and two children.

Reflecting on his time at MCC, Scott shared, “I grew up in Miles City. It will always be my home. MCC is part of that home. MCC allowed me to start my college basketball career, make lifelong friends, and explore my career path. I am forever grateful for my experience at MCC.”
