MILES CITY, MONTANA: Each year at Miles Community College, distinguished graduating student awards are given to three MCC students based on their time as students, including academic and co-curricular involvement. These awards are presented at graduation ceremonies and are given in three divisions: General/Arts and Sciences, Career and Technical, and Nursing. Nominations are submitted in the spring by MCC faculty and staff.

MCC is proud to recognize Johnna DeLoach of Terry, Montana, as she prepares to graduate cum laude with an Associate of Science in Nursing degree.

A standout member of the 2025 graduating class, DeLoach has continually demonstrated excellence in both academic and clinical settings throughout her time in the MCC Nursing Program.

Known for her unwavering commitment to the nursing profession and to the well-being of rural Montanans, DeLoach has served as an active leader within the Student Nurses Association (SNA). Her peers and instructors alike commend her for her ability to lead with empathy, collaborate effectively on group projects, and view challenges as opportunities for growth.

In addition to her academic achievements, DeLoach brings a unique perspective to the classroom through her role as administrator at the Terry Health Center. Balancing a full course load, family responsibilities, and professional leadership, she has exemplified the kind of determination and time management that inspires those around her.

“Johnna’s support for the MCC Nursing Program has been exceptional,” said nursing faculty members. “Her leadership and dedication reflect the core values we strive to instill in all our graduates.”

After graduation, DeLoach plans to continue serving her rural community, using her education and experience to help meet critical healthcare needs, hoping to make a lasting impact as both a nurse and a community leader.

The three Outstanding Graduate Award winners will lead the student processional during the 85th MCC Commencement Ceremony, held this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the MCC Centra.
