MCC to hold graduation ceremonies; announces commencement speaker

MILES CITY, MONTANA: Miles Community College (MCC) will celebrate the Class of 2026 with an in-person commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 2, at 10:00 a.m. at the MCC Centra in Miles City.

The MCC Nursing Program will also hold its Nurses’ Pinning Ceremony for the Class of 2026 on Friday, May 1, at 3:00 p.m. in the MCC Centra.

The HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) program graduation will also be held on the MCC campus in the Centra on Thursday, April 30, at 7:00 p.m.

Live streams will be available for all events on the MCC YouTube page (youtube.com/milescommunitycoll).

Jess Peterson will serve as the commencement speaker for Miles Community College’s 2026 graduation ceremony and has also been named this year’s Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.

A fifth-generation Montana rancher and 2002 MCC graduate, Peterson was valedictorian and an active student leader before earning his bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University. He is now the founder and president of Western Skies Strategies, serves as Executive Director of the Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority, and works as a senior policy advisor for the United States Cattlemen’s Association, all while helping operate his family’s ranching business in eastern Montana.
