
MILES CITY, MONTANA: On behalf of Miles Community College (MCC), President Dr. Ron Slinger is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dimitria A. Harding, DBA, Ed.D., as Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Dr. Harding joins MCC with an extensive background in academic leadership and innovation, having dedicated her career to strengthening academic programs, expanding workforce pathways, and fostering inclusive learning environments across a wide range of institutional settings.
Bringing more than two decades of experience in higher education, Dr. Harding has served in leadership roles at community colleges and technical institutions nationwide. Most recently, she was Provost and Chief Campus Officer of the Perry Health Sciences Campus at Wake Technical and Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Her prior leadership experience includes serving as Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Anoka Technical College in Anoka, Minnesota, as well as Dean of Health Sciences and Dean of Career and Technical Education at South Central College in Faribault and North Mankato, Minnesota. In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Harding has taught extensively in Allied Health, Medical Administration, Healthcare Management, and Healthcare Leadership programs.
Dr. Harding holds dual doctoral degrees, including a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of the Potomac and a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. She also earned a Master of Science in Community Health Professions and a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Old Dominion University.
Recognized for her proactive, collaborative, and strategic leadership style, Dr. Harding brings significant expertise in institutional and programmatic accreditation, student-centered program design, and fiscal and personnel management during periods of both growth and uncertainty. Her work reflects a consistent commitment to innovation, integrity, and effective communication with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Dr. Harding remains actively engaged in professional organizations dedicated to advancing community college leadership and career and technical education. Her involvement includes the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) and the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), where she participates in the CTE for All Mentorship Program and the Postsecondary, Adult and Career Education Division. She has also completed leadership fellowships with the AGB Institute for Leadership and Governance, Advance CTE, and the Thomas Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership.
