The College Board’s College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows students to demonstrate their mastery of college-level material and earn college credit. The Miles Community College Learning Center is a certified CLEP Test Center. CLEP examinations are accepted at Miles Community College and many other colleges and universities.
The cost for each CLEP exam is $95. $80 is paid to CLEP when a student registers, and a $15 test center fee is paid to Miles Community College on the date of the test.
To schedule a CLEP exam, please call 406.874.6152. The Learning Center requires two weeks’ notice for scheduled CLEP exams.
Miles Community College may accept up to a maximum of 30 semester credits for satisfactory scores on CLEP examinations. CLEP scores will be recorded as “P” grades on official transcripts.
A series of free online courses in CLEP subjects is now available through the Modern States Education Alliance. The courses are taught by college professors and delivered online via the Modern States website. All the courses are free, as are any required textbooks and other materials.
The CLEP courses are self-paced, and there are no prerequisites or restrictions on enrolling. Participants do not have to register for a CLEP exam; however, to earn college credit upon completion of the course, participants must take the corresponding exam and achieve a qualifying score.
