Miles Community College is one of three community colleges in Montana. Unlike the Montana University System colleges and universities, community colleges do not receive state funds for construction of facilities. The Miles Community College Endowment Board, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the academic mission of the College, entered into a fundraising campaign in 2014 to secure funds required to build the new facility.

The Ag Advancement Center is a 36,000 square foot facility, which houses three classrooms, a 100 x 200 foot arena, bathroom facilities, public event seating for 500 people plus a mezzanine, on-site apartment, faculty offices, a concession stand, and an open foyer and flexible space for conferences and events. The building has a metal interior finish, is ADA assessable with a sprinkler system, well-insulated, heating and cooling options to provide optimal temperatures during events, and paved ADA parking spaces and entrance access.

The Ag Advancement Center is a state-of-the-art facility that enhances learning at the Miles Community College West Campus. Miles Community College is now attracting students locally, regionally, and nationally who are interested in attaining a degree in Agriculture or Equine Science. With the addition of the Ag Advancement Center, our Ag and Equine students now have dedicated classroom space for their classes and our Equine students will no longer lose valuable instruction time due to inclement weather.

The facility serves primarily as an academic facility Monday – Friday during the academic year and limited time during the summer. Equine classes will utilize the indoor arena more often while the Agriculture classes will utilize the three classrooms. However, both programs will utilize both spaces at various times. The MCC Rodeo Team will utilize the arena space for practice and events. Some practice will occur in the outdoor arena when weather permits. The public will have access to the classrooms, foyer, concession stand, and arena after academic, rodeo, and other MCC use, which has priority. Public access will be primarily in the evening and on most weekends during the academic year and more available during the summer months (May-September). Public includes organizations, clubs, youth groups, and individuals carrying appropriate insurance based on MCC insurance requirements.

The total annual projected cost for the Ag Advancement Center is $66,203

The AAC rental contract shall be used for any individual, group, or organization seeking to rent the Ag Advancement Center.

  • A $500 cleaning deposit is required for all events serving food and/or alcohol and will be returned upon successful completion of the cleaning checklist provided by the AAC Manager.
  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages is not allowed on the Premises, or on the College campus unless approved through an Alcohol Variance by the College President.   • The contract does not include dining services catering. The Miles Community College’s Café has first right of refusal for all catering needs including breaks, meals, and drinks. A separate contract is required for Café services which are managed by the Dining Services Director at DavisV@milescc.edu or 406.874.6209.
  • MCC is a Coke exclusive campus, including Dasani water. Renters shall adhere to this.
  • Rental of Ag Advancement Center entire facility does not include the outdoor arena

Additional staffing required to unlock/lock facility, monitor event, etc (billed post event):  $25/hour
Ag Advancement Center Arena Area surface charge (billed post event):   $25/hour

Non-Profit Discount Rate (with proof of non-profit status):   50%
MCC Sponsorship Discount:   $100
  • MCC Sponsorship includes recognition of MCC on printed materials as sponsors and mention on radio advertising if applicable.
